Who Am I?
Hey, College Girl!
My name is Virginia Diana Pitra Sacotingo. I am a recent graduate of Lafayette College, earning a degree in Government and Law, & French.
I know you are probably wondering, what does Pitra mean? Well, Pitra is one of my middle names which means “Rock.” At the beginning of my college journey, I struggled to find a structure that catered to my personal and academic lifestyle. This came about after failing my first college exam…and I was mortified. “This is not the kind of student I am.” “I have to find a way to succeed in college.” I have always been determined to overcome obstacles I encountered. In addition, I enjoyed keeping myself busy with performing live such as singing and dancing, doing hair as a side hustle, involvement with Student Government, being a leader in my Afro-Carribbean and Majorette dance clubs, working retail off campus, and many more. To many it is too much. To me, it is a way of life. Because of this, I adopted my own method to where I had time to study, time for fun, and time to reflect. I found that my personal strategy worked for the next 3 years—making a 3.8GPA after failing my first exam and continuing to excel in my academic after then, securing my first research of many legal internships in Easton, Alexandria City Mayor’s Office, and a corporate lobbying company in Washington, D.C.
This structure proposed a method of up to only 5 tasks a day, 4 appointments a day, and 3 unforgettables a week. With extracurriculars, a side hustle, an on-campus job, a personal life, and a leader on campus, I want to do what works, saves me time, and produces fruit!
What makes the College Girl Planner different, is it is not about being booked and busy or checking items off of a to-do list. It is about living an intentional life, avoiding unnecessary overplanning when facing a busy season, and being the best version of yourself every day that you are gifted with the breath of life. From the cover, the stickers of encouragement, down to the ‘Selah’ (‘to pause in Hebrew’), you are brought with the opportunity to be where your feet are and plan for your future accordingly.
The Pitra method has been my rock and has yet to prove me wrong. I can only imagine the results you will be able to see in your personal College Girl Journey.
The planners are available at the Lafayette College Store in person and online, in store at Home Planted located in the Easton Public Market, and of course on this site! Stay tuned for my weekly blogs, and contact me at the email provided for further questions and college girl advice!
Sincerely,
Pitra
